Film Analysis
and Review
Elite Hockey IQ: Shifting the Game from Checkers to Chess.
Video analysis isn’t just a highlight reel—it’s a dialogue. At PEHD, we treat the ice like a classroom. By moving beyond the "information dump," we help athletes take an active role in their own development, fostering game awareness and the pattern recognition necessary for the next level.
The 4-Step Process
Our system requires active participation. Before you step into the virtual classroom, you must do the work.
Prepare
Download the PEHD Individual Video Analysis Worksheet. Identify your session focus (e.g., Decision-Making) and select 3–5 key shifts.
Analyze
Submit your completed 'Player' portion 24 hours before your session. Coach reviews your clips to identify your Top 3 Development Priorities.
Collaborate
Join a 40-minute virtual meeting. Together, we use your clips and digital whiteboard strategies to problem-solve specific game situations in real-time.
Review
Receive your finalized worksheet with Coach’s Notes, a primary Player Takeaway, and final thoughts for future reference.
Session Requirements
Pre-Cut Clips
Players/parents must provide video pre-cut into specific shifts. Coaches will not scrub through full-game footage.
The 24-Hour Rule
The Player portion of the worksheet—including your observed strengths and weaknesses—must be submitted 24 hours prior to the call.
Focus Areas
Choose 1–2 primary areas for evaluation, such as Skating Efficiency, Offensive Creation, or Situational Awareness.
Investment & Policies
Consistency is the foundation of pattern recognition. To build rapport and track long-term progress, we operate exclusively on a package basis.
The Tactical Edge
Only $75.00 / session
No-Show Policy
Failure to attend a scheduled virtual meeting without communication results in the loss of that session credit. No refunds will be issued.
Rescheduling
24+ Hours Notice: No charge; please contact your coach to reschedule.
Less than 24 Hours: A $40.00 "Preparation Fee" applies.
Note: Since the coach has already spent time reviewing your film and taking notes prior to the call, the preparation fee respects the labor already completed.
Coach's Note: Why the Worksheet?
"In the classroom and on the ice, the student who engages in the process is the student who learns. By identifying your own strengths and weaknesses before we meet, you are training your brain to see the game like a coach. This is where true Hockey IQ is born."
